  • Biography
My recent work focuses on the ever-changing intertidal zone, particularly around the Firth of Forth, exploring the renewal of this marine habitat by raising awareness of the re-wilding of seagrass and oysters. The fragile environment between tide, land and sea is an important metaphor for me, and includes island coasts, rock pools and river estuaries.
My concern lies also in the pollution of this environment and I often use the symbol of kelp as an oxygenator. This has recently led me to become interested in jellyfish and am currently working towards an art-science project about their reproductive cycle and how this can affect our relationship with the ocean.

I work full time from my studio in Leith and am a committed member of Edinburgh Printmakers.
I regularly tutor private workshops for Wild at Art Scotland Ltd., usually in the Outer Hebrides, always with a focus on an understanding of place and the local environment.
