  • Biography
I trained at Glasgow School of Art completing a BA (Hons) in Embroidered and Woven Textiles., followed by a PG Diploma at GSA in 1985-86.

I am passionate about the positive effects that the arts can have on psychological and physiological well-being and have worked on many, socially engaged projects. After working within arts education and development for most of my working life, I have recently returned to focusing on developing my own personal practice. I live in Edinburgh, where I work part-time in the Weaving Studio at Orwell Arts. I am currently President of the Scottish Artists Union.

I am interested in mark making, imagery exploring ideas connected to location, mapping and social and political histories connected to landscapes. I am fascinated by the idea that places might retain something of events which took place there.

I currently work in textiles and printmaking and sometimes use mixed media. I enjoy the slow meditative process of using traditional techniques and combining these with contemporary interventions.
