As an Illustration student currently studying at City Of Glasgow College, the course has helped me to develop my artistic journey and to learn new skills along the way. Illustration has allowed me to explore the methods of creating a narrative through art, alongside discovering more about art outside of the subject. I have become more familiar with the many facets of painting technique, such as colour and form and texture. Abstract Expressionism is a movement that I was always interested in, and I wanted to learn much more about it.

During the lockdown I started painting with materials at my disposal, in a more intuitive and free flowing style, as apposed to my more familiar style of intricate and illustrative pieces. I found the more responsive style very smoothing, with the process providing me with a haven away from the current situation.
There is something so endearing about mixing colours together and layering them onto a canvas to create a pattern of textures. My passion for abstract art has always there but for so long, I had only really explored a small part of this style, so this period of creative expressionism has been very eye opening. That's when I started to slowly discover that illustration helps me to write a story, whilst expressionism helps me to convey emotion, either simple or complex. I finally just let myself go by having fun doing what I love.
I am currently studying HND Illustration/Visual Communication at City Of Glasgow College.
Outside of education I have past experiences with by showing my work at exhibitions, and working alongside with people who are part of well known art collectives in Glasgow, others such as Where People Sleep - an art curating group that host their events and exhibitions in their own gallery space. I even help organise The Night Flea Market where I could sell my prints every two months at The Polish Club. I only just started doing commission work, so one of my recent illustrations featured on a music blog called 'Endless Grooves'. I am also currently in the making on creating my own website where I could sell work to the public.
One of my most recent commissions, I designed an album cover for a hip hop band in Edinburgh, called The Positive Experience.
