My interest lies in exploring one’s state of mind.
I often find it difficult to express myself verbally, so I use art and abstract imagery to convey what I cannot say with words. The colours and the composition I use, the marks I make on my paintings reflect not only the thoughts, conflicts and emotions I have, but also the person I am at the time of the creation of a piece. Therefore, my work changes from time to time, yet there still remains a connection between each painting as a result of the overall process I use. Visually, I aim to create contrasts between textures, colours and surfaces, as well as try different ways to create the illusion of depth and space.
I also make digital pieces for the same purpose and with the same intentions – I draw and manipulate in Photoshop and occasionally reuse and incorporate photographs and scans of my traditional work.
Lately my work has been focused only on digital images, and I am currently in the process of reevaluating what I am doing and remembering why I am doing it, which has driven me in the direction of creating more conceptual pieces.
