If there is a recurring theme in my work it is looking through things; through trees, through figures and through the surface. I like pictorial mechanisms that move the viewer's gaze both emphatically and subtly; springs and arrows, snakes and ladders and I'm interested in an interference between the rectilinear and something more fluid and lyrical.
