Jamie Johnson's work attempts to examine cultural symbolism from both modern and ancient worlds, communicating observations and ideas by creating an autonomous visual language. Working across painting, collage, printmaking and video, fragments of primitivism and memory spill into the works. He has exhibited across Europe and North America, most recently at Edinburgh City Art Centre and the Royal Scottish Academy.
