My work is based around the small coastal village of Achilitbuie where I live. The paintings are an emotional response to place and to the weather which dominates life in this wild location. Water, wind, prehistoric hills, bare croft land, shore, islands and above all, ever changing light. Nature at its most raw. I am drawn by the forms of the land shaped by the forces of nature and often the marks left by human activity. The paintings are on board or canvas using acrylic, collage, oil pastel, pencil and charcoal.
I studied at Bridge House Art in Ullapool and have exhibited in numerous local galleries. For many years I juggled painting with running my own business. I am now able to spend my days in the studio.
My work is held by private collectors in the UK and abroad.
