Throughout my creative practice I rely on nature and the natural form as my inspiration. I explore different aspects of my own personal relations with and connections to nature, more specifically, the plant world. All through my life I have been very lucky to be surrounded by and appreciate the wonders that nature creates, shown to me by my parents.
Something that is really important to me within my own work is to create a discussion or relations between my subject matter and the viewer and use art as a tool of education.
My current work focuses on the relationships and affiliations we have with plants. I look into the ‘narrative of a plant’ and use it to connect and engage the viewer to the natural world in an attempt to open up their own personal memories that are in association with particular plants or flowers. I combine a mixture of print and collection alongside text and audio for this body of work.
