- Biography
David Faithfull is an artist, printmaker and Artist’s Book maker. He lectures at Edinburgh College of Art.
His practice involves a broad range of experimental processes. Current investigations include alternative environmental printmaking processes, using seaweed and ground mineral and berry pigments. ‘Squid Ink’ is currently on show in ‘Art in Nature IV’ at the Museum of Nature of Cantabria in summer 24. Other areas of creative enquiry include palindromic landscapes, studies mostly based on the Isle of Mull; oak gall ink, an alchemical aviary and dark matter.
He is currently co-curating the Norwegian and Scottish Artists Project ‘EBBE+FLOW’, with the accompanying publication funded by Creative Scotland, having sailed the exhibition over to Gulen in Norway from Shetland in August 24, for the 750 year anniversary of King Magnus’s instatement of National Law.
He exhibits internationally and has work in collections including Tate Britain, the V&A and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
