Within my practice, I work with sculpture and paintings. I like to collect ready mades, such as crockery, antiques and Greek busts. These are worked into with various materials such as gloss and other domestic craft items. The items have many connotations, it functions both as a work of high art and a novelty item. In terms of painting, my work is versatile, as I work with a myriad of different media and subject matter. Recently I have began to work with images from history and pop culture. Furthermore, my abstract portraits are gestural in nature and inspired by the likes of Francis Bacon. Obscured faces full of anxiety and vivid colours - these depict my inner anxieties and the personality of the subject, they are autobiographical in the sense that they function as encoded, visual diary entries.
