Anna Gormezano Marks builds on work rooted in written language, human rhythms and mark making, producing work primarily on paper, with a long term interest in developing more physical works. Poetry and writing guide the imagery, creating an ebb and flow between mediums allowing exploration of the studio process.
Her current practice explored new territory; playful, delicate, and part of an ongoing body of work, unravelling story telling techniques, illusions and concepts of human interpretation.
A departure from AGM’s focus in works on paper and fields of gestural abstraction, instead collecting and assembling found objects and imagery to create more surrealist compositions.
