Wells

I’m a documentary photographer based in Scotland, working across photography to explore the relationship between people, place, and landscape. My work is rooted in observation, focusing on rural life, community, and the quieter, often overlooked moments that shape everyday experience. I’m drawn to slower, more intentional storytelling, images that feel honest and grounded rather than staged. Using natural light and a responsive approach, I aim to capture atmosphere as much as subject: the shifting weather, the texture of a landscape, and the subtle interactions between people and their environment. Alongside commissioned work, my personal practice is increasingly focused on place-based stories, particularly around land, the outdoors and connection to nature in Scotland. I’m interested in building bodies of work that unfold over time, combining still imagery and narrative to create something more immersive and reflective. At its core, my work is about paying attention, creating space to notice and document the details that define a place, and the people within it.
