Christine

Brown

Christine Brown is a Scotland-based artist whose work moves between painting, glass and ceramics. Rooted in a 20-year background in etched glass, her practice explores tension between containment and release. Using the structure of stone dyke walls as a framework, she creates works that shift between surface and depth, questioning what is protected, what is exposed, and what quietly changes over time.

Disciplines: Mixed Media

Location: Lanark

Previous Experience

I have exhibited in Still Walls, Passing Time (2026) and 36 Views of Tinto (2018), alongside over a decade of consistent participation in Open Studios in South Lanarkshire. And exhibiting with Tea Green Events at the Burrell Collection. I established and ran an etched glass practice, working to commission led projects for over 20 years. And trained at Glasgow School of Art in stained Glass as a mature student moving to specialising in etched glass using Dremel and sand blasting techniques. After attending various courses at the Paintbox Art School, Cockenzie, Scotland. I now work across painting, glass and ceramics, developing a practice that explores structure, pressure and change.
