Professional Membership is by election only and new members must be nominated by two existing members, one of whom must be a professional member. Professional membership is aimed at working artists who are actively creating and exhibiting work and people whose main occupation is in the creation or promotion of the visual arts.

Professional members will be able to guide and influence the policy and decision making within the society.
It is hoped that professional members will help to promote the society’s cause and image and encourage others to join VAS.
If you are interested in Professional membership we would advise you to take out regular membership in the first instance. Nominations and elections for professional membership take place once a year. Members will be informed of the process opening to allow them to secure nominations or to nominate other members.
Visual Arts Scotland memberships are now processed through Stripe. If you have been paying by bank transfer or PayPal we request that you switch your subscription to our new system to ensure continuity of membership.
Your card will not be charged until the renewal date of your membership.
