Margaret Gray is a contemporary Scottish painter based in West Lothian. Working primarily in acrylic, she creates atmospheric seascapes and landscapes inspired by the shifting light, skies, and coastlines of Scotland. Her paintings explore mood, memory, and the emotional connection between land, sea, and sky. Using layered colour, expressive brushwork, and intuitive mark-making, she captures fleeting moments of light and atmosphere rather than literal representations of place.
