All of my work is process led and I am attempting to make works that explore “the unconscious mind”; in this respect the work is not premeditated, an image’s starting point is a response to events that occur on a daily basis that affect subliminally who I am. The creative process involves making a random colour & gesture onto the surface and a conversation begins. The work is intuitive and serendipity plays a role, where, as part of the process the work is put away and revisited after a period of time, invariably this means that a different viewpoint might emerge. Titles end up suggesting themselves as I recognise a colour palette is the result of my own state of mind.

Disciplines: Painting
