My work is inspired by many things, both retrospective and contemporary, natural and manmade. Exploring the potential of a line across a variety of formats, including drawing, paintings, sculpture, and music. Thick lines, thin lines, zigzag, curved, straight, fast and slow—they all have their own special mood and melody. Visually recording my time and memories of various locations and interior observations, depicting daily rituals and interactions. Daydreaming, curiosity and imaginative drifting, making and more making, drawing and more drawing. Influences include folky, harmonic, and melodic musics of all kinds; the pastoral and folkloric delights of the countryside and the various eccentric beasts and humans that inhabit it; the dizzy geometries of architecture and design; and overall, the wonders of making stuff.
