I’m an artist based in Aberdeen. I make monoprints using acrylic paint, a gel plate and photographic transfers. I enjoy working with old photographs, portraits and images of places and objects that catch my attention. I usually work in black and white, sometimes adding a little colour. What I love about monoprinting is that things don’t always turn out as planned. Sometimes the best parts of a print happen by accident. I don’t always know where a piece is going when I start. I like experimenting, trying different things and seeing what happens. My work is often quite dark or nostalgic, but I prefer to leave the meaning open. Everyone sees something different, and I like that.
