I produce reduction fired stoneware, decorative and functional and work mainly with woodash glazes. I also run regular 9 week courses, mainly focussing on the wheel and teach to all levels. I fire to Orton Cone 10 and my work reflects the nature of my materials, with glazes allowed to flow and blend, creating their own beauty. I’m a facilitator and observer of the possibilities. Still continually enchanted by it all even after 45 years!

Previous Experience

I earned a BA in Ceramics at Duncan of Jordanstone COA in 1983 and set up my first studio in rural Fife in 1985. I began teaching for local councils in 1986 and continued to do so until 2020. I now run my studio at The Pitt in West Granton and run my own regular courses. I have work in public collections (McManus Gallery, Dundee and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum) and it is available from the Scottish Design Exchange, Edinburgh; The City Art Gallery, Edinburgh, The Museum of Edinburgh and Dukes of West Barnes, East Lothian. Also through the gallery at the studio in Granton, Edinburgh.
