My series of paintings ‘Cell to Bloom’ has been exploring the Joy of bursting forth, cell life, seeds, flower heads and plant intelligence. My painting technique has adapted in line with this specific subject matter. The cell, seed subject matter demands a more abstract and fluid use of paint allowing for the rendering of liquid matter, osmosis, ebbing and an echoing the moment of fullness. I feel they are about resurgence, life force, recovery and a world within.
