Hannah

Gregory

Hannah Gregory is a stained glass artist who has trained, worked and studied stained glass techniques, glazing and history extensively in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States of America. Gregory is based between Wales, U.K and Cervantes, Western Australia and is currently focussing her practice on weaving together medieval and contemporary approaches to surface techniques and manipulations in stained glass that she has spent the past seven years travelling internationally to develop. It is a time of settling and experimentation, as Gregory etches, paints, kiln fires, stains, files, sandblasts and engraves glass into both abstract lyrical and figurative stories. Hannah also works on a commission basis for clients in residential and public architecture. Additionally, she designs for European studios in the capacity also. In 2027, Gregory will have her first solo exhibition, which will be the culmination of many years of developing a contemporary approach to a once-tired medium, with many pre-conceived notions. This exhibition will focus on her ongoing exploration of freedom, and how that manifests in place, mark making, the idea of “home” and our relationship with the national world.
