Will

Farmer

Will Farmer is an artist and writer from Sheffield. He has a BA in Fine Art from Manchester School of Art and is currently studying for an MLitt in Art Writing at Glasgow School of Art. Whilst nearby ecologies and the global climate descend into increasingly urgent states of emergency, the unwieldy subjectivities of our embodied and internal lives have become saturated by grief, hope, joy and confusion. This reality confronts us with timescales and physical spaces which warp and compress before our eyes, as if seen through an illusory lens. Will Farmer works with fiction, poetry, audio, moving image, photography and installation to externalise this confusion. Will Farmer’s practice reflects on relationships to land, locality and the other-than-human world as a social and cultural issue, a field of study which questions our desires, curiosities and imagination in the face of a troubled future.
