Visual Arts Scotland presents our Annual Exhibition 2022, celebrating the best in innovative contemporary visual arts. The exhibition will take place at the Royal Scottish Academy, National Galleries of Scotland, The Mound, Edinburgh in January 2022. This annual show promises to be one of the most diverse exhibitions of contemporary art to be held in Scotland in 2022 with an expected audience of over 30,000 people.
We welcome entries from artists working across a diversity of artforms. Please note that there are five specific open calls pertaining to work type: General Submissions (ceramics, painting, sculpture, tapestry, drawing, print, glass, design, bookmaking and all other mediums not listed in other specific open call categories), Jewellery, Large Works & Installation, Moving Image and Performance. We will have a seperate call out for those who wish to apply for the Inches Carr Mentoring Award for makers and craftspeople in October.

Entry to this exhibition is free to all current Visual Arts Scotland Members.
The maximum number of works depending on Membership type.
All submissions (from Members and Non-members) are subject to an admin fee if selected: £5 per work upon delivery of works to RSA building in January 2022

Pre-Selection: Late October 2021
Notifications of pre-selected works: Early November 2021
Delivery of works: Saturday 1, Sunday 2 and Monday 3 January 2022
Final selection and collection of unselected work: Wed 5th January 2022
Preview: Sunday 9 January 2022
Exhibition dates: Monday 10 January - Tuesday 1 February 2022
Collection of works: Tuesday 2 February 2022 and Wednesday 3 February 2022
