Williamson

Photographer | Filmmaker | Writer | Researcher Based in the Scottish Highlands and working across Scotland and the UK. I am a photographer and filmmaker working across commissioned and independent creative practice. My work is grounded in storytelling, observation and an interest in people and place — from commercial, cultural and third-sector commissions to longer-term photographic and research-led projects. My creative practice explores landscape, place and environmental change through photography, moving image and writing. Walking, observation and fieldwork are central to this work. Drawing on documentary, ethnographic and autoethnographic approaches, I am interested in how landscapes are experienced and remembered, and how environmental and social change becomes visible through everyday places and lives. Projects including Assemblage, Unseasonably Warm and English Pastoral combine documentary observation with experimental approaches to image and text. My work has been exhibited across Scotland and the UK, including at the Saatchi Gallery as part of the Royal Photographic Society’s International Photography Exhibition 167. Alongside my visual practice, I write poetry and prose, with work published in literary journals and magazines.
