Using paint, textiles, photography, and the written word, I explore the human condition. I often incorporate found materials and discarded objects into my art – these “chanced upon” findings informing the direction a piece of work will take. I construct, deconstruct and reconstruct repeatedly – creating layers which can both conceal and reveal. I am drawn to the things that people leave behind, and the ways in which these relics connect us to their history. The theme of how memory shapes us and dictates the ways in which we navigate and make sense of our lives, is one that I keep returning to.
My main focus is creating artist’s books and sculptural works. I strive to continually develop my artistic language, and explore new ways of communicating my ideas.
