Scottish in upbringing, I have lived in Fife for the last 28 years. Studying Design at Edinburgh College of Art (2003-2006) and later Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee (2014-2016), I have been drawn back to art because of its ability to allow me to express myself in a way that nothing else does. I believe that Art not only allows me an opportunity to explore and understand myself, but also others in a way I cannot explain from a purely intellectual standpoint.
For me art is not only about aesthetics, but also about intellect, emotion, philosophy, and at times, politics. There lies a story behind a lot of my works, but I prefer to allow viewers to make their own stories in reaction to my work and to keep it open in terms of the viewer’s interpretation.
I work in ceramics, photography, drawing, sculpture and film.
