''we are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars''
Life, the universe and everything is a complex interplay with connections everywhere one cares to look. I am particularly interested in how the same shapes appear everywhere. The shapes seen looking at tiny organisms under a microscope echo the shapes of galaxies seen through telescopes. I attempt to reflect this complexity in my compositions and I also use colour to heighten mood and to encourage an emotional response. I like to make multi layered work, to show whats underneath, inside, hidden.
To make my artworks I use a combination of techniques; painting, beadwork, material, glitter, collage and layering.
I love to teach and be taught, to learn the wisdom of the ages and be astounded by new ideas and inventions. I believe life should be serious fun.
