Dianne trained as a sculptor and art historian and lectured at Edinburgh College of Art for 25 years. She began exhibiting as a jewellery designer – maker at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival.
She specialises in one-off statement pieces which are often very sculptural. Combining striking design in silver and/or gold with a wide variety of unusual semi-precious and precious stones, the jewellery is bold and dramatic.
Contemporary techniques such as photoetching and fold-forming are used along with traditional methods of forming the metal.
She received the major Russell Trust Award at the 2007 VAS exhibition.
