‘Scotland provides me with just about all the inspiration I could ask for.

‘Every day my senses are saturated by the beauty of our country - it could be anything from the way the sun glints through the leaves of the trees in our garden, to the wind whipping the loch into a frenzy, the all too familiar lashing of rain to freshly cut flowers.

‘My path to painting came after raising my family, when I decided to attend classes at Glasgow School of Art. The tutors – which included Norrie Kirkham and Peter Howson – gave me confidence to let my work grow and change, something to which I continually aspire.’

Mary’s work can be viewed throughout the UK and has found its way into the collections of many private and corporate buyers – she is an associate of VAS, the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and is an artist member of Paisley Art Institute. Her work has also appeared at the Royal Scottish Academy.

All work is acrylic on canvas.
