Graduated M.A. (Hons) in Fine Art from Edinburgh University and College of Art, then L.L.B. from Edinburgh University. Attended a decorative arts course at V+A, London.

1991-2000: Founder trustee of Paintings in Hospitals, Scotland. 2000: Elected Professional member of Council of Visual Arts Scotland. Currently President of Visual Arts Scotland and Director of Exhibiting Society of Scottish Artists (ESSA).

Exhibits annually in many group exhibitions throughout Scotland including RSA, RSW and VAS exhibitions. Awarded the Truant Award for seascape in 1985 and the Dorothy Duff Memorial prize for watercolour in 1998.
