ABOUT

Visual Arts Scotland are proud to invite submissions for Converge 2016

Scottish National Galleries Academy Building, Upper Galleries
The Mound, Edinburgh
Friday 29 January – Saturday 20 February 2016

Our annual open submission exhibition offers the opportunity for artists, designers and makers working in all disciplines to test, showcase and engage their work with a wider public.

We invited both established and emerging artists to submit work for via our online submissions system. There are no restrictions on the type, size or genre of work we will consider and we consider and select the works which are the most intriguing, reflective, full of inventiveness in ideas and in making, those that offer fresh insight and approaches and context to both traditional and emerging ways of working.

Artists are encouraged to consider how their drawing, painting, sculpture printmaking or installation practices might be transformed or work alongside wearable design, furniture, graphics, ceramics and many other disciplines.  We encourage artists to seek out collaborators, or add new processes and techniques, which might enable breakthrough and engaging development in their work.
