A fun day for all the family! Come and see some of our artists at work and have a go at creating your own piece of art!

Sculpture Court

- Have a Go at Calligraphy with Susie Leiper -  Master calligrapher Susie Leiper will show you how to write beautifully


Gallery II

- Learn how to emboss paper with Cat Outram - printmaker Cat Outram will give a demonstration of etching and printing.

- Make an Artist's Book with Susie Wilson - Artist bookmaker Susie Wilson will teach a variety of folded book structures which start from one piece of paper. These can be turned into unique books with secret elements and pull out pages.

- Be inspired by architectural forms - visual artist Deirdre Macleod will show you how to use tracing paper, mapping pens and other technical drawing materials to create a simple folded drawing.

Gallery III                              

- Join Brigid Collins and Naomi Harvey on a journey of the imagination: learn a fun Scottish song and make a ‘song scroll crankie theatre’ that tells the story of the song in your own moving pictures.

-  Be inspired by the Cordis Prize tapestries and try your hand at tapestry weaving with Fiona Hutchison

- Jeweller Bryony Knox will demonstrate the ancient art of chasing and repoussé. Try your hand at chasing simple lines in copper.
