  • Biography
I am a painter, and use oil as my preferred medium. I paint from life and will often sketch ideas out first allowing the piece to develop as I work, and enjoying the process of it becoming another idea entirely. I try to evoke a mood with each painting, and have recently become interested in the importance of colour to specifically portray emotions and stories.
Colour has always been very important in my work, and I will also now use images from books or photos to create tension or calm.
I have a print table and with oil based inks and copper plates I make one-off images that I can use to feed ideas into the paintings.
Other influences include artists past and present and exhibitions which I am always interested to see.
