My practice is concerned with the overlooked and unacknowledged objects and situations that occur in our everyday urban environment. These chance encounters that arise through the action of walking are then documented through photography. The ephemeral and the liminal situations that I am drawn to may be overlooked simply because they are deemed as detritus or barely regarded then passed by many times. Through the act of painting I hope to highlight the observatory processes that happen during the act of walking and also raise the significance to this type of observation. The paintings are an attempt to create an interesting dialogue between objects, situations and their environmental context.
