I am fortunate enough to have been brought up in a rural community on an island off the west coast of Scotland. Growing up in Tobermory I was surrounded by bright coloured houses, old fishing piers and rugged coastlines.
Throughout my time at DJCAD it became a subconscious influence in my work and eventually resulted in my fourth year being spent channelling my conservative island heritage into a contemporary fashion format.
Over the past 6 years I have spent in Dundee, I have been inspired to pursue a fashion led practice. I have dedicated my time to create pieces that ideally would be used in editorial and artist photographs, however, have kept them minimal enough for day-to-day wear. With this aesthetic in mind, I have created pieces that are not true representations of objects but are abstract copies; this then allows the individual to interpret the pieces in different ways.
