It also gives the art going public access to a new perspective on ways in which visual and applied art techniques and materials are being explored, interpreted and expanded. To this end, Visual Arts Scotland’s main function is the coordination and presentation of a large scale annual exhibition held in the Royal Scottish Academy galleries in Edinburgh. Perhaps most importantly of all, VAS highlights how boundaries between disciplines are being crossed and recrossed, giving rise to exciting innovative and challenging new works.
